CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the “Cleanliness is Service 2024” campaign, a joint team from Zones 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and 20, led by Municipal Corporation Health Officer Ravikant Audichya, conducted a drive against prohibited single-use plastic in the Royal Market, Jumerati, and Mangalwara areas. A total of 151 cases were filed, and fines amounting to ₹69,200 were collected on the spot.
Similarly, in Ward No. 29, Zone No. 08, the Municipal Corporation of Bhopal seized polythene, filed 27 cases, and collected fines of ₹4,400. Around 1.6 kilograms of plastic was seized, and the single-use polythene was sent to a cement agency as RDF (Refuse-Derived Fuel) to ensure it cannot be reused.
