CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At the Department of Geology, Barkatullah University, a Standards Club was formed under the aegis of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Around 13 students of this club participated in the standards writing competition sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
At the beginning of the competition, the Head of the Department of Geology and mentor of the Standards Club, Dr. Vinisha Singh, welcomed BIS resource person Ms. Deepika Gaikwad with a bouquet.

Resource person Ms. Deepika Gaikwad and the mentor of the Geology Department’s Standards Club, Dr. Vinisha Singh, provided guidance on the Bureau of Indian Standards and the standards writing competition. They also explained the BIS hallmark and its importance in everyday consumer products.
Thereafter, the students carried out standards writing on the topic of packaged drinking water. In the competition, the first prize was awarded to the team of Ankita Singh Thakur and Aashi Tamrakar; the second prize went to the team of Shobhit Dahiya and Mautasim Billah; the third prize was secured by the team of Moumita Jana and Tulsi Maravi; and the fourth (consolation) prize was awarded to the team led by Aryan Rai. All the winners were duly honored.

The program was conducted in the presence of Dr. Vinisha Singh, Mentor and Head of the Department, Department of Geology, Barkatullah University, Bhopal; Dr. Aarti Dawar (Assistant Professor); Dr. Aman Soni (Guest Faculty); research scholars; and other members of the department.
