CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS, in collaboration with the Departments of Pediatric Surgery, Radiation Medicine, and Medical Hematology and Oncology, organized various activities. Every year, programs are held globally in September to raise awareness about childhood cancer. As part of this, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Day was celebrated. Executive Professor Ajay Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the nurses, saying, “Nurses play an extremely important role in caring for children suffering from cancer and blood disorders. They not only provide medical care but also offer emotional and mental support to families. Thanks to their dedication and service, the lives of our young patients are improved. AIIMS is always committed to providing the best care and continuous support to its nursing and healthcare staff.”
The purpose of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Day is to salute the dedication and service of the nurses who play a crucial role in caring for children, adolescents, and young people suffering from cancer and blood disorders. On this occasion, Head of the Pediatrics Department, Prof. Shikha Malik, congratulated all the nursing staff for their hard work and appreciated their contributions to child care. She said, “The dedication and commitment of our nursing staff play a vital role in the treatment and recovery of children battling cancer and blood disorders. Their contribution is invaluable.”
Pediatric hematologist Dr. Narendra Kumar Chaudhary emphasized the importance of continuous education for upgrading knowledge and encouraged the nursing staff to acquire new skills and techniques so that they can achieve excellence in patient care. The active participation of all faculty members of the Pediatrics Department, resident doctors, nursing staff, and support staff at the event highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaboration in the fight against childhood cancer and blood disorders.
