When innocent tourists are held at gunpoint, when someone’s death is determined based on their religious identity, it is not just a terrorist attack — it is a direct assault on humanity.
The attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, is a brutal example of this cruelty, where 28 innocent lives were taken, including Indian citizens as well as foreign tourists.
This attack was carried out by the so-called “The Resistance Front,” which is essentially another face of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
In this attack, the terrorists first confirmed the victims’ religious identities, forced them to recite the Islamic Shahada, and then specifically targeted and shot non-Muslims.
This represents the height of hatred and extremism, which cannot be ignored under any circumstances.
The Government of India has strongly condemned this attack and has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
However, this is not just a time for condemnation — it is a time for decisive action.
We must call Islamic terrorism by its real name and take firm steps against it.
This attack not only challenges the ongoing peace efforts in Kashmir but also clearly shows that our fight against terrorism is far from over.
We must further empower our security forces, strengthen our intelligence network, and adopt a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of terrorism.
Now is the time to state clearly that terrorism, in the name of any religion or ideology, is unacceptable.
We must stand united against Islamic terrorism and ensure that such heinous incidents never happen again in our country.
