CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Reports have emerged of airstrikes by Pakistani aircraft in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces. According to Afghanistan spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, nine people, including women and children, were killed and 11 others injured in bombing that targeted civilian homes in the two areas. Three houses were also reported to have been destroyed in the attacks.

According to local reports, a civilian house was attacked in the Chogam Valley of Kunar’s Sheltan district at around 3 a.m. on Thursday. Citing local sources, the reports said five people were killed and three others injured in the incident. The report said most of the dead were children.

Airstrikes on civilian homes were also claimed in the Safar area of Helmand’s Garmsir district. Afghanistan’s spokesman condemned the incidents, describing them as aggressive actions and crimes. He said such attacks violate international principles. The latest incidents are likely to raise tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. At the site, relief workers pulled people from the debris and took the injured to hospital for treatment.
