CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The first-ever ‘Neeraj Chopra Classic’ (NC Classic) will be held on May 24 in Panchkula, Haryana. World Athletics officially confirmed this prestigious international javelin throw competition on Thursday.
This event has been categorized as a World Athletics Gold-level meet, making it a crucial qualification competition for the World Championships. Several top international javelin throwers are expected to participate in the event.
The competition will take place at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula.
Current world champion Neeraj Chopra will begin his 2025 season on May 16 at the Doha Diamond League in Qatar, just one week before the Neeraj Chopra Classic.
Neeraj last competed in India at the 2024 Federation Cup, where he won the gold medal with a throw of 82.27 meters.
