CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Paramedical Sciences at Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, organized an industrial visit to the Biomedical Waste Management Plant of India West Management Private Limited in Mandideep to enhance students’ practical knowledge. This educational visit was conducted under the guidance of AGU Dean C. P. Mishra and Head of the Paramedical Sciences Department, Avinash Singh. The program was coordinated by faculty members Pooja Nagotra, Vandana Sen, Yashoda Sahu, Viveka Gautam, and Raj Lovanshi.

Approximately 40 students from the Paramedical Department participated in this industrial visit. During the visit, students were provided detailed information about the collection, transportation, segregation, treatment, and safe disposal of biomedical waste, giving them practical experience related to their curriculum.

Company official Sanjay explained to the students the classification of biomedical waste, the color-coding system, and modern technologies such as shredding, autoclaving, and incineration. He also emphasized that scientific management of biomedical waste is crucial for environmental protection and preventing the spread of infections in healthcare institutions.

The processes are carried out in accordance with the guidelines specified under the Biomedical Waste Management Rules 2016 and the Environment Protection Act 1986. This industrial visit proved to be highly informative and useful for the students, providing them the opportunity to understand real-world biomedical waste management processes, the importance of compliance in healthcare, and environmental responsibility.
