CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) along with all 27 institutions of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will now offer Ph.D. programs in medical research. For this, ICMR has signed an agreement with the Academic of Scientific and Innovative Research (ACSIR). ACSIR has invited applications for Ph.D. courses in medical research subjects in all institutions. The deadline for application is April 30th. Under this agreement, all ICMR institutions will function as Associate Academic Centers for ACSIR.
Dr. Manisha Shrivastav, the Director-in-Charge of BMHRC, stated that currently, several postgraduate and super specialty courses are being conducted in various departments of BMHRC, and now Ph.D. courses in medical research subjects will also be available at the institution. There will be a total of 5 seats for Ph.D. in BMHRC. The commencement of the Ph.D. course will benefit MBBS or MD degree holders interested in the field of research, and the country will have a large number of physician scientists. She mentioned that interested candidates can log in to the ACSIR website and fill out their forms by April 30th.
After that, shortlisted candidates will undergo a written examination or interview. The results will be announced in July, and the session will commence from August.
It is noteworthy that there are 27 institutions of ICMR across the country, mainly dedicated to research. ACSIR was established in 2011 to train future leaders in the field of science and technology.
