CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The valedictory session of the four-day Pharmaceutical Chemistry Workshop, organized under the PM-USHA scheme by the Department of Pharmacy, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, was concluded in a highly dignified atmosphere. Students and faculty members from 10 different pharmacy institutions participated enthusiastically in the workshop.

The closing session began with a welcome address by the Director and Workshop Convener, Prof. Ragini Gothalwal, who highlighted the objectives and achievements of the workshop. She stated that the primary aim of the program was to familiarize students with industry-oriented working processes in the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, with special emphasis on hands-on training along with lectures.

Following this, Ms. Darshana Gohate, Co-Coordinator, Department of Pharmacy, presented a brief overview of the lectures, training sessions conducted over the four days, and the active participation of the attendees. She also expressed gratitude to all the speakers and members of the organizing committee.

During the program, Prof. Vivek Sharma, in his address, said that chemistry holds a unique and comprehensive place in life. It is not only an integral part of academic education but also plays a significant role in life education. He conveyed to students that science should be understood not merely as a subject, but by connecting it with life experiences.

The special guest of the program, Prof. Shilpa Kaore from the Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS Bhopal, emphasized that a strong understanding of chemistry and analytical techniques is essential for pharmacy students. She noted that such workshops connect students with real industrial environments and help enhance their confidence.

In the valedictory session, Vice-Chancellor S. K. Jain, in his inspirational address, advised students not to confine their learning to theoretical knowledge alone, but to apply it effectively in practical life. He stressed the importance of first striving to become a good human being and moving forward by internalizing practical life experiences. He stated that the university’s objective is to develop students not only academically but also ethically, socially, and professionally. He congratulated the organizing committee on the successful workshop and extended best wishes for organizing more quality academic programs in the future.

On this occasion, the PM-USHA Scheme Nodal Officer, Co-Nodal Officer, Soft Component Coordinator, heads of various university departments, and faculty members were also present. Organized with the support of CRISP, the workshop proved to be highly beneficial for students.

During the feedback session, participants stated that the workshop provided them with valuable insights into industrial workflows, modern laboratory techniques, and both practical and theoretical understanding of the subject. They also expressed their interest in participating in longer-duration workshops in the future.

At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Rachna Akhand Giri, Head and Coordinator, Department of Pharmacy, delivered the vote of thanks. Certificates were then distributed to the participants, marking the successful conclusion of the workshop.
