CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Starting June 8, the Philippines will allow Indian citizens to enter the country without a visa, marking a significant step to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral ties. This strategic move aligns with the Philippines’ broader goal of encouraging tourism and business exchanges with key international partners, especially from South Asia.

Under the new policy, Indian travelers who meet specific requirements—including holding valid visas or permanent residency documents from the US, UK, Canada, Schengen countries, Australia, or Japan—can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 14 days. The initiative is expected to not only promote tourism but also facilitate smoother travel for professionals, students, and businesspersons traveling through or staying in these third countries.

The Philippines Department of Tourism has expressed optimism that this new measure will make the country more accessible and appealing to Indian tourists, who are increasingly exploring Southeast Asia.

This move reflects a growing trend among ASEAN nations to attract Indian travelers through eased visa policies, recognizing India’s expanding middle class and travel enthusiasm. Travelers are advised to check specific eligibility and documentation before planning their trip.
