CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Mumbai. Actor and singer Piyush Mishra has questioned actor Naseeruddin Shah’s participation in a recent political protest. In a video message, Mishra appealed to Shah to publicly comment on the bravery shown by Indian pilot Smit Machhar in the FlyDubai incident and to congratulate him.
Piyush Mishra said that pilot Smit Machhar showed courage to ensure the safety of passengers in the incident involving FlyDubai flight FZ1073. He questioned why Shah had not reacted to the incident.
Mishra’s remarks came after Shah attended a CJP protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. On October 2, Naseeruddin Shah, along with Shabana Azmi, Vishal Dadlani and other artists, took part in a protest organised by the Cockroach Janata Party at Shivaji Park. The protest demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Piyush Mishra also referred to the recent controversy at LPU and issues linked to student protests. Student demonstrations over an alleged incident at LPU had turned violent. Later, the Punjab and Haryana High Court asked the police to clarify whether the alleged incident had actually taken place and sought a detailed status report in the matter.
Amid the controversy, the statements of the two artists and their differing responses to public issues remain under discussion. There was no immediate response from Naseeruddin Shah to Piyush Mishra’s remarks.
