CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: A proposal to initiate postgraduate courses at Ashtang Ayurveda College, Indore, has been set in motion with the formation of a special committee. Efforts will also be made to advance research in Ayurvedic pharmacy through the college. Required actions, including the identification of government land and the establishment of labs, have been directed to proceed.
The institution aims to establish Panchakarma Centers to benefit more people and promote the importance of Ayurvedic treatment methods among the masses. These directives were issued by the Minister of Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH Department, Inder Singh Parmar, while chairing the General Assembly meeting of Ashtang Ayurveda College, Indore.
Minister Parmar also instructed the renovation of the Ayurvedic hospital building located in Rau and the preparation of a proposal for a new facility. He emphasized the need to extend the benefits of Ayurveda to a larger population and called for increased efforts to promote awareness about Ayurvedic services.
He stated that the central and state governments are making continuous efforts to expand Ayurvedic medical services. He added that it is essential to work on both Ayurvedic treatments and research on Ayurvedic medicines to ensure maximum benefit to the public.
Prominent attendees of the meeting included MLA Malini Gaur, Dr. H.S. Dabar (representative of the AYUSH Commissioner), S.P. Singh (Principal, Gujarati Samaj Homoeopathy College), Hansa Baria (Divisional AYUSH Officer), Mahesh Gupta (President, Medical Association), Vaidya Lokesh Joshi, and D.R. Chaurasia (Parent Representative), among other dignitaries.
The Principal of Ashtang Ayurveda College, Dr. Ajitpal Singh Chauhan, delivered the welcome address, providing a detailed update on the institution’s progress and activities.
The meeting began with the worship of Lord Dhanvantari’s statue and a lamp-lighting ceremony. Following the meeting, a tree plantation drive was conducted in the college premises, and the session concluded with a vote of thanks by S.K. Das.
