CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Environment Day, tree plantation was done under the leadership of AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Ajay Singh. Emphasizing on environmental protection and community welfare, Professor Ajay Singh pointed out the importance of maintaining cleanliness and greenery not only in the AIIMS Bhopal campus but also in its surrounding areas. He said that green environment contributes significantly to enhancing public health.
Professor Ajay Singh said, today’s tree plantation drive is a symbol of our commitment to promote a healthy and sustainable environment. Trees play an important role in providing us oxygen, absorbing water and reducing pollution. By planting trees, we can not only keep the environment around us clean but also lay the foundation for a better future for the coming generations. Professor Singh requested people to plant a tree on his birthday.
Apart from this, Prof. Singh also urged all the participants to extend the spirit of tree planting beyond institutional boundaries and take initiatives to plant trees around their residences. He emphasized that individual efforts to plant and nurture trees can collectively make a significant difference in promoting environmental protection and combating climate change. The event was attended by staff, students and local community members.
