CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Myanmar’s Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in Bangkok during the BIMSTEC Summit. He once again expressed his condolences over the recent loss of lives and property caused by the earthquake. In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi stated, “India is making every possible effort to assist our brothers and sisters in Myanmar during this difficult time.”

He further added, “We also discussed bilateral relations between India and Myanmar, particularly in areas such as connectivity, capacity building, infrastructure development, and other sectors.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The two leaders explored the vast potential for cooperation between India and Thailand in areas including defense, trade, culture, and more. Prime Minister Modi shared details of this meeting in a post on X.

He wrote, “It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister of Thailand. He has extensive experience in governance and policy-making. He is also a great friend of India and shared a close relationship with Atal Ji.”

The Prime Minister added, “Mr. Shinawatra and I discussed India-Thailand cooperation and how it benefits our respective people. We explored immense possibilities in defense, trade, culture, and other sectors.”
