CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the bravery of Flydubai’s Indian pilot Captain Smit Machhar. A serious security incident occurred inside the cockpit of flight FZ1073, which was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30. Captain Machhar was injured during the incident, but played a role in handling the situation and ensuring the safety of passengers. The aircraft was later landed in an emergency at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.

In a social media post, Prime Minister Modi described Captain Machhar as a “hero” and said that despite being seriously injured, he showed courage and determination to save the lives of others. The Prime Minister said his bravery helped save hundreds of lives and avert a major tragedy. He also wished Captain Machhar a speedy recovery.

According to reports, 174 people were on board the flight. During the incident, the aircraft suddenly lost altitude and was later diverted to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia. According to the Indian Embassy, Captain Machhar has been admitted to a hospital in Tabuk and his condition is said to be stable.

Captain Machhar has previously worked with SpiceJet and later joined Flydubai. He has long experience flying Boeing 737 aircraft. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the relevant authorities.
