On 9/11’s 25th anniversary, PM Modi recalls Vivekananda’s Chicago address

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago address. The Prime Minister referred to Vivekananda’s speech delivered on September 11, 1893, at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago, United States. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi remembered the historic address in which Swami Vivekananda powerfully presented India’s spiritual and cultural heritage on a global platform.

Swami Vivekananda began his famous address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893, by addressing the gathering as “Sisters and Brothers of America.” The address is remembered for its message of global brotherhood, tolerance and respect for all religions.
