New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with members of a group travelling from Varanasi to Vadnagar under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. During the interaction, he heard their experiences of service work and said the purpose of service should not be to gain political benefit, but to reach the last person in society.
The Prime Minister said service holds the highest importance in public life. Workers reaching different locations under the campaign met beneficiaries and shared their experiences with the Prime Minister. One participant said that during the journey, an elderly woman requested that her thanks be conveyed to the Prime Minister.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being conducted from September 17 to October 17 to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Modi’s public life. Under the initiative, service, public outreach and various social activities are being organised across the country.
During the campaign, the group travelling from Varanasi to Vadnagar interacted with people along the route and met beneficiaries of government schemes. The Prime Minister listened to the workers’ experiences and emphasised taking service activities to wider sections of society.
