CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The first day of the two-day training program on Career Guidance and Placement, organized by the Department of Sociology at Barkatullah University under the PM-USHA scheme and in collaboration with the Research and Industrial Employee Performance Center, was successfully concluded.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. The event witnessed a dignified presence of distinguished guests. Organized under the guidance of Head of the Department, Ruchi Ghosh Dastidar, the program aimed to provide students with career planning strategies, skill development insights, and an industry-oriented perspective.
In the inaugural session, Election Commission member Dhirendra Chaturvedi delivered a detailed presentation through a PowerPoint, informing students about contemporary career opportunities, competitive exam preparation, and various dimensions of personality development. He explained the difference between career and employment and guided students on how to move forward successfully in life. The Vice-Chancellor, in his motivational address, emphasized the importance of quality higher education, discipline, and self-reliance, and highlighted why such training programs are essential for students.

On this occasion, Kumresh Kashyap, Shashank Shekhar Thakur, Vipin Vyas, Rekha Khandiya, and Head of the Law Department Mona Purohit were also present. Program Coordinator Prof. Anita Dhurve explained how students should make the most of the two-day sessions to ensure they find the right direction for their future. The program was effectively and systematically anchored by Radha Mishra.
Technical Sessions – Day One
Two major technical sessions were conducted on the first day:
Session 1: Career Opportunities and Industry Trends
Jaydeep Singh, Co-founder of Gostuds, provided detailed guidance on opportunities available across various sectors, startup culture, and future skill requirements.
Session 2: Essential Employability and Soft Skills
Vivek Yadav, Head of Gurukul of Geeks, offered practical advice on communication skills, leadership abilities, teamwork, and interview preparation.
During the interactive question-and-answer session, students enthusiastically participated and had their queries addressed by the experts. The program played a significant role in developing confidence, awareness, and a clear career perspective among students. The second day of the program will also feature diverse sessions and guidance activities.
