CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Mumbai. In the firing case linked to actor Tiger Shroff, the MCOCA court has extended the police custody of all the accused. Police will now also examine possible links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the case. Investigating agencies suspect that an organised criminal network may have had a role behind the incident. On this basis, questioning of the accused and examination of evidence are continuing.

At the hearing in the MCOCA court, the accused arrested in the case were produced before the court after the expiry of their police custody period. Considering the need for further investigation, the court allowed the extension of police custody for all the accused. Police say information still has to be gathered on the conspiracy behind the incident, the role of the accused and their mutual contacts.

A key aspect of the investigation is to determine whether the accused had any contact with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police are examining their mobile phones, call records, digital evidence and mutual communications. It is also being investigated whether anyone provided instructions, financial assistance or other resources to carry out the firing incident.

The case is being pursued under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Under this law, investigation of cases linked to organised crime involves examining criminal networks, financial transactions and links among the accused. Police are trying to connect all possible leads. At present, the alleged links of the accused with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang are within the scope of the investigation. The position on this will become clear only on the basis of police questioning and the available evidence.
