CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the joint aegis of Barkatullah University, Bhopal, and Prime Minister Excellence College, Chandra Shekhar Azad Government College, Sehore, a program was organized in the village of Lasudiya Parihar with the objective of fostering the social responsibilities of educational institutions and promoting practical knowledge development among students as outlined in the National Education Policy 2020.
The university aims to provide technical knowledge for the conservation of rural ponds and the development of livelihoods through fish farming. Speaking at the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor S.K. Jain stated that the university would adopt the village of Lasudiya Parihar and organize activities for social development. Additionally, a laboratory would be established to ensure the quality of drinking water and to provide immediate information on water sources.
Professor Jain also instructed faculty members to arrange for students to stay in the village and study rural life as part of their practical learning experience. College Principal R.K. Sharma emphasized that such activities are essential for enhancing students’ practical knowledge in alignment with the New Education Policy 2020 and assured full cooperation from the college.
Village Sarpanch Rajendra Rajput, on behalf of the Panchayat, assured full support and appreciated the efforts of educational institutions toward the development of the village. Fisheries Department official Jagdish Tilete highlighted the immense potential for fish farming in the village pond and noted that with technical assistance, it could become a sustainable livelihood source.
The event witnessed significant participation from social workers, villagers, faculty members, and students.
