CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: New Delhi. Police have registered a first information report (FIR) against an unidentified person in connection with posters pasted and writing done in black ink on a wall at Delhi’s Shivaji Stadium Metro station. The incident is said to have occurred on October 24, 2026. The people who put up the posters have not yet been identified, and police are investigating the matter.
Posters and writing found near emergency gate
According to police, Shivaji Stadium Metro station controller Uday Shankar Arya was informed at around 11 a.m. by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sub-inspector about writing and posters on the station premises. The station controller then inspected the spot with housekeeping staff, took photographs and informed senior officials and police.
During the inspection, writing in black ink was found on the wall of a shaft near emergency gate number 7, while a poster was pasted near gate number 5. The writing was later erased and the poster removed.
Posters had earlier been found on the Airport Express Line
The incident has come to light a few days after posters were found on Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line. Earlier, on October 20, during the inspection of a train that had reached Yashobhoomi Metro station, two posters questioning the government’s functioning were found on a seat. Those posters mentioned various issues and also carried a QR code to join an online group.
In that case too, police had registered a case against unidentified people. Police are now investigating the incident at Shivaji Stadium station to determine who put up the poster, who wrote on the wall and what the motive behind it was. Police are trying to identify suspects with the help of CCTV footage. However, no official confirmation has yet been made about any person taking responsibility.
Police have registered the case under the law related to defacement of property and the Metro Railways Act. Clear information about the facts linked to the incident and the people responsible will emerge only after the investigation is completed.
