Potholes, scattered murrum along National Highway increase accident risk for motorists

The poor condition of the roadside has created the risk of two-wheeler riders slipping, falling and meeting with accidents. Despite this, repair and cleaning are still needed at several places.

Motorists passing through the highway have to steer clear of potholes along the roadside. At the same time, scattered murrum at many spots can cause two-wheelers to lose balance. Such conditions also pose a risk for vehicles moving at high speed. Particularly at night, it can be difficult to see potholes and material spread on the road.

Local residents and motorists fear that if these shortcomings are not addressed in time, accidents could occur. Regular inspection along the highway, repair of potholes and removal of scattered murrum are needed.
