CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: It is not easy to compare the towering personality of late media guru and senior journalist Pushpendra Pal Singh, popularly known as “PP Sir”. For PP Sir, media, public relations and journalism were not merely professions but responsibilities towards society. His distinctive personality reflected the radiance of the sun and the calmness of the moon. He worked for everyone’s betterment. No stain is visible on PP Sir’s personality. In programmes on Akashvani and Doordarshan, he presented government policies and even the most complex issues with facts and great simplicity. Press Information Bureau, Bhopal, Director Manish Gautam said this at the programme “A Memory… A Legacy… A Beginning”, organised on PP Sir’s birth anniversary. On Thursday, at the Dushyant Kumar Smarak Pandulipi Sangrahalaya, PP Sir’s personality, thoughts and contribution to journalism were remembered with reverence. The Pushpendra Pal Singh Foundation, Bhopal, was also formally launched and its website unveiled on the occasion. Those present resolved to take PP Sir’s legacy to the new generation of journalists.
Director Gautam spoke on “PP Singh: One Personality, Many Influences” and highlighted various aspects of PP Sir’s personality. He underlined his journalistic vision, life values and ability to take people along. He said PP Sir’s influence was not limited to the words he wrote; he gave journalistic values to an entire generation that worked with him and learned from him. At the programme, Sachin Chaudhary, founder and editor of Bundeli Bauchhar, shared his views on “Digital Era: Opportunities for Entrepreneurship in Regional Media”. He said digital mediums have opened new paths for regional and local journalism. Digital platforms have become a means for news from small cities and local languages to reach a wider readership, opening doors to self-reliance in journalism. At present, more than 5,000 influencers are creating content in the Bundeli dialect by making effective use of mobile phones. However, in changing times, there is also a need to maintain the credibility of journalism along with new technology. He said that because of his connection with Bundelkhand, he had a special bond with PP Sir. Bundeli Bauchhar, too, continued to receive his affection.

In the special reminiscence session, former Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Department assistant director Karuna Rajurkar spoke about PP Sir’s warm, sensitive and guiding personality. President’s award-winning social worker Poonam Shroti said PP Sir had a solution to every difficult situation. “Whenever I met him regarding any issue, he would say, ‘Do not worry, everything will be done,’” she said. Former students, senior journalists and PP Sir’s colleagues present at the programme also shared their experiences with him.
Foundation president Shanu Singh said the purpose of the foundation is to carry forward PP Sir’s ideology, journalistic values and commitment to society. She said PP Sir’s memory would not be limited only to events, but would be taken forward through creative activities and guidance for the new generation. PP Sir’s former students, journalists, people from the social sector and others associated with him were present at the programme.
