CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi held a comprehensive review meeting with senior officials. The meeting discussed strengthening initiatives linked to renewable energy in the country and accelerating their implementation.
Minister Prahlad Joshi said the main objective of the meeting was to give momentum to India’s green growth and make various schemes in the renewable energy sector more effective. The meeting focused particularly on promoting renewable energy initiatives in the northeastern states.
The government is continuously emphasizing meeting the country’s energy needs while increasing the use of clean energy. India has set a target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030.
Promoting technologies such as solar energy, wind energy, green hydrogen and energy storage is among the government’s key priorities in the renewable energy sector. These initiatives are expected to help strengthen energy security, reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable development.
