CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The creation of Ayushman Cards for seniors aged over 70 in Bhopal district is ongoing. So far, Ayushman Cards have been made for 10,000 senior citizens in the district. Social organizations are actively participating in this campaign.
In this regard, a special Ayushman and health check-up camp was organized by Prayas Jankalyan Samiti in Arera Colony on Wednesday, with the support of the Health Department, initiated by retired senior administrative officer Kavindra Kiyawat. In the camp, Ayushman Cards were created for 101 people aged over 70, and health check-ups were conducted for 139 people. Additionally, 125 ABHA IDs were generated.
During the event, Bhopal Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Ayushman Bharat Niramayam CEO Yogesh Bharsat, and Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan interacted with senior citizens, providing them with detailed information about the scheme. Yogesh Bharsat, CEO of Ayushman Bharat Niramayam MP, explained that the Ayushman Vay Vandana Cards are being issued for all elderly people aged 70 and above without any income or poverty criteria. This card offers cashless treatment up to 5 lakh INR for hospitalization.
Major government and private hospitals across the state are included in this scheme. In Bhopal, beneficiaries can avail cashless treatment at AIIMS, Hamidia Hospital, Jayprakash District Hospital, Chirayu Medical College, People’s Medical College, LN Medical College, Bansal Hospital, National Hospital, Nobel Hospital, and others.
During the special camp held at E-2 Arera Colony, Prayas Jankalyan Samiti leaders, including President Aparna Vasishtha, Vice President Lalita Khabya, Secretary Nidhi Khandelwal, Treasurer Kamaldeep Saluja, and Executive Members Archana Bastaria, Manjari Awasthi, Nisha Nenwani, Rashmi Srivastava, and Rajshree Modi, provided information about the committee’s efforts. The committee also requested the district administration and health department to continue their support in organizing future health-related programs.
Bhopal’s Chief Medical and Health Officer, Prabhakar Tiwari, mentioned that Ayushman Cards are already being issued with the support of the Municipal Corporation. Various social organizations in the district are also actively assisting in this process by helping senior citizens get their Ayushman Cards made.
Senior citizens over 70 who already possess Ayushman Cards will need to re-register, which will give them an additional top-up of 5 lakh INR, separate from the 5 lakh INR provided to their family. This additional amount will allow for personal cashless treatment.
