CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the direction of Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of ADM Ankur Meshram to discuss preparations for pre-monsoon floods and natural disasters. The meeting witnessed participation from all major departments of the district and included a detailed review of the steps being taken toward flood control.
ADM Meshram instructed that all departments should be fully prepared to deal with potential disaster situations during the monsoon. He mentioned that a control room has been set up in the district and helpline numbers 0755-2540220, 2701401, 2542222 have been released for contact in case of any disaster.
Instructions were also given to create WhatsApp groups involving relevant officers to facilitate quick exchange of disaster management information. The Public Works Department (PWD) was asked to prepare a list of all bridges and culverts, while the Mining Department was directed to gather information on deep mines and reservoirs. The Municipal Corporation was instructed to ensure cleaning of drains and take measures to prepare for emergencies.
Additionally, identification of temporary shelters and relief camps in potential flood-prone areas was emphasized, along with ensuring the supply of essential services and coordinating with social organizations and NGOs for assistance.
The meeting was attended by officials from SDM, Tehsildar, Municipal Corporation, SDRF, PWD, Health, Water Resources, Home Guard, and NDRF among others.
