CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The inauguration of Prime Minister Jan Aushadhi Kendras in district hospitals will be launched by His Excellency the Governor and the Chief Minister during a state-level program organized at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre. These centers will be opened in 50 district hospitals across the state. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, Minister for Urban Development and Housing Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour Prahlad Patel, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Narendra Shivaji Patel, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Pratima Bagri, and Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Radha Singh will be present.

The Prime Minister Jan Aushadhi Kendra is being inaugurated at the Jaiprakash District Hospital in Bhopal. The objective of the Prime Minister’s Jan Aushadhi scheme is to make healthcare affordable in India by providing quality generic medicines at low prices. The aim of this initiative is to reach those who cannot afford the cost of essential treatments due to expensive medicines. These centers provide generic medicines that are much cheaper compared to branded ones. Regular checks are conducted to ensure the quality of all medicines. These centers are spread across the country, making affordable medicines accessible at nearby locations. Medications are readily available at these centers, eliminating the need for people to pay extra for expensive drugs.

Bhopal’s Chief Medical and Health Officer, Prabhakar Tiwari, mentioned that the opening of these centers in district hospitals will allow a large population to access affordable and quality medicines. These centers offer more than 2,000 high-quality medicines and 300 types of surgical products. These medicines are 50% to 90% cheaper than branded ones. Sanitary pads are also available here for just one rupee, considering women’s health. The medicines sold at these centers are produced by WHO-GMP manufacturers. Additionally, over 45 types of specialized medicines for diabetes, blood pressure, and gastrointestinal issues are available at these centers.
