The Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Bhopal, has issued notices to six private hospitals in Bhopal for failing to submit applications for hospital license and registration renewal within the prescribed deadline. These hospitals will not be allowed to operate after 31 March 2026.

The hospitals issued notices are:

According to Section 3 of the Madhya Pradesh Subordinate Establishments and Outpatient Treatment (Registration and Licensing) Act, 1973, and Rules 1997 (as amended) 2021, private health institutions cannot operate without registration. Private hospitals are required to obtain registration and a valid operating license from the CMHO office, which is issued for a period of three years starting from 1 April.

This year, private hospitals and clinics were given approximately two and a half months to apply via the NHS portal, but these six hospitals in Bhopal did not submit their renewal applications within the stipulated timeframe.

Dr. Manish Sharma, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, stated that the notices were issued in accordance with the provisions of the Nursing Home Act. He further warned that if any of these hospitals are found operating after 31 March 2026, legal action will be initiated against them.
