CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) of Bhopal has issued directives mandating private hospitals and nursing homes in the city to prominently display the tariff list of medical services provided at a designated counter.
CMHO Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari instructed all private hospitals to display the tariff list and provide written prior notification to the CMHO office regarding any revisions in the rates.
Under these guidelines, patients and their families must be shown the tariff list upon request, and this information should also be displayed at the registration counter. Charging fees contrary to the displayed list will be considered a violation of patients’ rights.
Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari emphasized that protecting patients’ rights and interests is a priority for the administration. He stated that it is the responsibility of hospital management to provide the tariff list to patients as part of their right to transparency.
Regular inspections will be conducted across all hospitals and nursing homes in the district to ensure compliance. Failure to display the tariff list will result in appropriate action under the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Homes and Clinical Establishments (Registration and Licensing) Act, 1973, and its amendments in 1997 and 2021.
