CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A distinguished lecture was organized by the Department of Physics at Barkatullah University. The keynote speaker at the event was Prof. Ravindra Pandey from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, USA. Prof. Pandey was welcomed by Dean Prof. Sadhana Singh.

The lecture focused on “Nanomaterials for Energy Applications”, in which Prof. Pandey discussed hydrogen-based energy systems and alternative energy sources. Emphasizing the current global need for alternative energy, he elaborated on the potential of hydrogen storage using nanomaterials. He explained that hydrogen fuel is a promising option as green energy, and for increasing hydrogen storage, suitable storage containers made from appropriate materials are critically needed.

Nanomaterials have proven to be an effective option for building such containers. Prof. Pandey highlighted the need to enhance the quality of materials used in manufacturing hydrogen storage containers in the future.

The program was attended by Madhu Sarwan, Soumi Chatterjee, Veena Thakur, research scholars, and MSc students. Prof. Pandey also addressed students’ queries and doubts related to research and encouraged them to pursue research actively. He proposed collaborative research with the department and stressed that instead of unidirectional research, there is a growing need for multidirectional research.

At the end of the program, the organizers expressed their gratitude to the keynote speaker.
