CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: International Women’s Day was celebrated at Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University. The chief guest for the occasion was Mrs. Aruna Mohan Rao, a former IPS officer, who was present in Bhopal.

Ms. Kala Mohan, founder of Nidaan Institute, Bhopal, served as the main speaker at the event. The program was chaired by Prof. Sanjay Tiwari, Vice-Chancellor of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University. In honor of International Women’s Day, students of the university’s B.Ed department created rangoli on the theme of Women’s Day and presented various cultural activities, including inspirational poems, songs, and thought-provoking skits.

Mrs. Aruna Mohan Rao stated in her address that women don’t need a special day; every day is Women’s Day. She emphasized the indispensable role of women in society and highlighted the need to eliminate gender disparities. Referring to Indian society, she mentioned that although women have achieved success in almost every field, there is still a significant percentage of women whose future remains uncertain. Mrs. Aruna emphasized the need to create safe environments for women and children, advocating for safe families, neighborhoods, villages, and cities. Dr. Sushil Mandariya, Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, addressed the program, highlighting the importance of recognizing every day as Women’s Day and acknowledging the pivotal role of women in society. The event was conducted by Dr. Sadhna Singh Bisain, senior advisor of the university, with expressions of gratitude from Dr. Ratan Suryavanshi, Director of the university. The program was attended by university faculty, officials, staff, and students.
