The objective of this day is to raise awareness about the importance of patient safety and to strive for improvements in safety within healthcare. This year, the day is being observed with the theme “Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety.” On this occasion, various awareness programs, including orientation workshops, seminars, patient safety pledges, and training sessions, will be organized in all healthcare institutions.
Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bhopal, Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, stated that the purpose of this day is to educate patients and their families about the importance of safety in healthcare, raise awareness among healthcare providers about the significance of safety, and assist in developing policies and programs to improve safety in healthcare systems. Through this day, attention is focused on various patient safety topics in healthcare institutions, such as fire safety, electrical safety, clinical audits, diagnostic services, cleanliness, antibiotic safety, infection control, and medication management. This ensures that healthcare providers remain committed to adhering to these safety standards during their regular duties.
