CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chairperson of National Commission for Women Holds Public Hearing in Bhopal to Resolve Women’s Complaints
To ensure the prompt resolution of complaints and issues faced by women, Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), conducted a public hearing in Bhopal. During the event, over 50 applications were reviewed, and several cases were resolved on the spot.
Rahatkar personally listened to various complaints from women at Government Maharani Lakshmi Bai College, Polytechnic Chowraha, Bhopal, and instructed the relevant officials to ensure swift resolution of multiple cases. She mentioned that, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the NCW is organizing special public hearings across the country, and this event in Bhopal was part of that initiative, providing women with a direct platform to voice their concerns.
She emphasized that the commission prioritizes reaching out to women who, for various reasons, cannot approach the commission themselves, hearing their issues, and ensuring timely solutions.
The hearing was attended by senior officials, including Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, ACP Monica Shukla, along with other police and administrative officers.
Such special public hearings provide women the opportunity to present their grievances directly before the National Commission for Women, ensuring that necessary action is taken for the prompt and effective resolution of their cases.
