CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : The National Pulse Polio Campaign will be held in Bhopal on the upcoming 12th of October, during which all children up to 5 years of age will be administered polio drops. In this regard, a task force meeting was held at the Collector’s office under the chairmanship of Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh. Instructions were given during the meeting to ensure 100% vaccination coverage.
The meeting was attended by District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Ila Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer Manish Sharma, Women & Child Development Officer, Nodal Officers of Health Programs, representatives from the Education Department, Railway Hospital, CRPF, Rotary Club, World Health Organization (WHO), and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
The Collector instructed the Women & Child Development and Education Departments to actively support the campaign and appealed to parents to ensure their children receive the polio drops. Mrs. Ila Tiwari directed that publicity and awareness efforts be intensified, anganwadi workers be engaged to raise public awareness, and a control room be established for monitoring.
The target is to administer the polio drops to the maximum number of children on the first day of the campaign. For this, 2,699 polio booths have been set up, with 6,144 vaccination workers and 360 supervisors assigned for monitoring. Additionally, 118 transit booths and 80 mobile teams have been deployed across the district to ensure that no child is left out.
Dr. Manish Sharma highlighted that polio cases are still being reported in neighboring countries of India, making it extremely important to administer the polio drops to every child.
