CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To protect children from a serious disease such as polio and to make the nationwide Pulse Polio campaign successful, a special Pulse Polio immunisation drive continued on the second day in the Bhopal division of West Central Railway.
Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi and the direction of Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Dogra, medical department teams administered polio drops to children in railway colonies and at the railway station.
On the second day of the campaign, a total of 240 children, including 210 children from railway families and 30 children from non-railway families, were given anti-polio drops, providing them protection from the serious disease.

Special vaccination arrangements were made at East Railway Colony, Coach Repair Railway Colony, Nishatpura, Habibganj Railway Colony and Bhopal Railway Station. Medical department teams visited these locations, administered polio drops to eligible children and sensitised parents to ensure that children aged 0 to 5 years are given polio drops in every Pulse Polio campaign.
In the first phase of the extensive campaign organised by Bhopal division on 28 June, 2,471 children were administered polio drops at railway stations, in trains and in railway colonies. The campaign continued on the second day as efforts were made to ensure that 100 per cent of eligible children were reached.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria said the medical department, railway employees, volunteers and parents extended important cooperation in making the Pulse Polio campaign successful. He appealed to all parents to ensure that their children aged 0 to 5 years receive polio drops in every Pulse Polio campaign, so that the national resolve of a polio-free India can be realised.
