Pune Metro Line-3, which connects Shivajinagar with Hinjewadi, will be inaugurated. Along with this, the foundation stone will also be laid for four new corridors linked to the expansion of the metro. These projects are expected to strengthen the public transport system in Pune and nearby rapidly developing areas.
Pune Metro Line-3 is considered an important project connecting the city’s major commercial and IT areas. Better connectivity from Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi could benefit employees working in IT parks, students and daily commuters. It is also expected to reduce pressure on road traffic and save travel time.
The laying of the foundation stone for four new metro corridors will open the way for expansion of Pune’s urban transport network. The aim of these projects is to connect different parts of the city with modern public transport and meet the transport needs of a growing population.
