According to Pune Rural Police, both suspects have made conflicting statements during custodial interrogation, each claiming the other was the mastermind behind the alleged conspiracy.
Investigators, however, say they are relying on technical evidence rather than the accused's changing versions. Police are examining CCTV footage, mobile phone records, digital communications, and witness statements to reconstruct the events leading to Agarwal's death at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Officials have indicated that the evidence collected so far points to a premeditated conspiracy, though the investigation is still underway and the allegations remain subject to judicial scrutiny.
The case initially appeared to be an accidental fall but later turned into a murder investigation after police uncovered alleged inconsistencies in the statements and other evidence.
