CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Vanmali Srijanpeeth is organizing a three-day event titled “Vanmali Katha Samay and National Vishnu Khare Poetry Award Ceremony,” dedicated to art, literature, and culture. This grand event will take place from February 19 to 21, 2025, at the campuses of Rabindranath Tagore University and Scope Global Skills University. During this occasion, esteemed writers will be honored in four categories.
Announcement of National Poetry Awards
In memory of Vishnu Khare, the following writers will be honored under the National Poetry Awards:
Vishnu Khare Criticism Award: Nandkishore Acharya (Bikaner)
Vishnu Khare Translation Award: A. Aravindakshan (Kerala)
Vishnu Khare Poetry Award: Leeladhar Mandloi (New Delhi)
Vishnu Khare Young Poetry Award: Parvati Tirkey (Jharkhand)

Introduction of Honored Writers
Leeladhar Mandloi: His poems vividly depict the dialect and life of Chhattisgarh. He has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Pushkin Award, Nagarjun Award, and Raza Award.
Nandkishore Acharya: A renowned critic, he has authored 12 poetry collections, 8 plays, 7 critical works, and 12 socio-philosophical books. He has received honors like the Meera Award, Bihari Award, and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.
- Aravindakshan: Former Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi International University, Wardha, he is a distinguished translator and writer who has translated significant works between Hindi and Malayalam.
Parvati Tirkey: A young poetess known for her works related to tribal life, culture, and folklore. Her notable work is “Phir Ugna.”
Contribution of Vanmali Srijanpeeth
Established in memory of the late Jagannath Prasad Chaubey ‘Vanmali,’ Vanmali Srijanpeeth is actively promoting literature and culture. The Vanmali Katha Samman has previously been awarded to esteemed writers like Mamta Kalia, Chitra Mudgal, Uday Prakash, Akhilesh, Priyamvad, and Geetanjali Shree. This year, the National Poetry Award has also been instituted.
This event aims not only to preserve literary heritage but also to provide a platform to inspire young writers. Many senior litterateurs from Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh will participate in this program.
