CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the Abhyuday Bharat 2026 program, initiated by the Private University Regulatory Commission, Madhya Pradesh, a special lecture on the life and contributions of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was organized at Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal. The event was held at the Manthan Auditorium under the joint auspices of the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts and the Centre for Sanskrit, Oriental Languages, and Indian Knowledge Traditions.
The chief speaker was Brij Kishore Bhargava, senior pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and regional head of Gauseva. He highlighted that Bhagwan Birsa Munda was not only a freedom fighter but also a symbol of the identity and cultural consciousness of the tribal community. Born on 15 November 1875 in Ulihatu, Jharkhand, Birsa Munda led the Ulgulan movement against the British and missionary activities. The movement fought for political, social, and religious freedom and eventually led to important laws like the Chhota Nagpur Tenancy Act.

Ravi Prakash Dubey, the Vice-Chancellor, stated that discussing the lives of such great personalities strengthens patriotism and cultural awareness among the youth. The university aims not only to provide academic education but also to connect students with Indian history and eminent national figures.
During the program, students who excelled in the Abhyuday Bharat 2026 painting and drama competitions were awarded. In the painting competition organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, 22 students participated. Rakhi Kulaste (BA 6th Semester) secured first place, while Lalit Mohan Pal (BA 6th Semester) came second. Sonia Meena (BA 2nd Semester) also delivered an outstanding performance.
The event was hosted by Pushpendra (BA Honours, Final Year), the vote of thanks was presented by Ruchi Mishra Tiwari, and special coordination support was provided by Savitri Singh Parihar and Sanjay Dubey.
