CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the second series of the Drug De-Addiction Campaign, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, in collaboration with the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Pehal Drug De-Addiction Center, and Youth for Seva Bhopal Chapter, organized a district-level program. The event featured essay writing, speech, poster-making, and rangoli competitions.

While students expressed their thoughts on various aspects of substance abuse through speeches, the rangoli and poster-making competitions conveyed creative messages about staying away from drugs through art and colors.

The program was graced by DIG MK Singh of CRPF as the Chief Guest, along with Special Guest Superintendent of Police, Special Task Force, Rajesh Singh Bhadoria. Distinguished guests included MK Rajoria, Deputy Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and Ajay Pratap Singh, Joint Secretary of the Press Club.

Addressing the students, DIG MK Singh said that many people in society often believe that life is filled with problems, and they turn to drugs to escape their sorrows. However, just as darkness cannot be removed with more darkness, drugs cannot remove sorrow or problems. He encouraged students to embrace positivity and take inspiration from the great leaders of our country. He added that if one must become “addicted,” it should be to social service and patriotism, which will advance the nation and uplift society.

SP Rajesh Singh Bhadoria emphasized that while discussions on drug de-addiction are common, it is essential to take action. NSS volunteers should carry the campaign to every village and household. When society collectively awakens and promotes this initiative, communities can be freed from the grip of addiction.

MK Rajoria, speaking as a distinguished guest, said that the success of the drug de-addiction campaign requires collaboration between society and the government. Both must work together to achieve meaningful results.

Presiding over the program, Vice-Chancellor RP Dubey of Rabindranath Tagore University stated that education plays a vital role in eliminating social evils such as addiction. Teachers, in collaboration with students, can spread goodness in society, shaping better citizens and freeing communities from these vices. He urged students to participate in such campaigns alongside their studies.

Students were also addressed by Ajay Pratap Singh, Joint Secretary of the Press Club and National Editor of Media Today; Attar Sahu of Youth for Seva; and Pankaj Chauhan of Pehal Drug De-Addiction Center.

Following the addresses, students who secured first, second, and third positions in the various competitions were honored on stage. Participants included students from Rabindranath Tagore University as well as the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus.
