CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Fulbright-Hays GPA Hindi Curriculum Development Project Team Visits Bhopal for ‘Bhasha Samvad’

A 20-member delegation from the Fulbright-Hays GPA Hindi Curriculum Development Project, developed through a joint effort of the Yuva Hindi Sansthan (New Jersey, USA) and New York University, is arriving in Bhopal on March 10, 2025, for a five-day study tour. The delegation will actively participate in ‘Bhasha Samvad’ and various academic events hosted by Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal.

Academic Collaboration

This initiative was conceptualized during a previous meeting between Santosh Chaubey, Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, and Ashok Ojha, Program Director of the Fulbright-Hays GPA Project. The event and related programs are being coordinated by Dr. Jawahar Karnawat, Director of the Tagore International Hindi Center.

Objective of the Fulbright-Hays GPA Project

Dr. Karnawat stated that the primary goal of the Yuva Hindi Sansthan and New York University’s Fulbright-Hays GPA Project is to provide formal knowledge of Indian culture to American language teachers and trainee educators. This knowledge will enable them to develop high-quality Hindi curriculum materials focused on Indian cultural studies upon their return to the USA. The project also aims to familiarize American educators and students with the diverse cultural landscape of India.

Project Founders & Research Focus

The project founders include Ashok Ojha, President of Yuva Hindi Sansthan, USA, and Professor Gabriela Nik Ileva, Senior Professor of Hindi at New York University. The project focuses on:

“The Various Dimensions of Storytelling in Indian Folk Culture”

“Stories Depicted Through Sculptures at Historic Architectural Sites”
