CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The third convocation ceremony of Rabindranath Tagore University was held in a highly dignified and grand atmosphere. On this special occasion, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and Transport & School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh graced the event as chief guests. The ceremony was presided over by the Chancellor of the University, Santosh Choubey.
Distinguished guests included Radha Kant Padhi, HAL Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Siddharth Chaturvedi, Secretary of AISECT; Pro-Chancellor Aditi Chaturvedi Vats; Vice-Chancellor R.P. Dubey, and other eminent educationists. On this occasion, Indonesian cultural scholar E. Made Dharmayasa was specially honored.
Chief Guest Rajendra Shukla, in his address, stated that Rabindranath Tagore University has emerged as a significant educational hub in the state, providing quality education while instilling moral values in students. He emphasized that today’s youth will play a crucial role in building the India of tomorrow.
Uday Pratap Singh remarked that a degree is not just a certificate, but a symbol of our responsibility towards society. He praised the university for encouraging innovation and self-reliance among students.
Radha Kant Padhi, in his convocation address, highlighted that only through science, research, and technical excellence can we bring about positive change in society. He inspired students to pursue research and creativity.
Chancellor Santosh Choubey reiterated the university’s commitment to Gurudev Tagore’s educational ideals and its continued presence in the NIRF rankings. He emphasized the university’s efforts to prepare students to compete at a global level.
During the ceremony, 362 degrees were awarded to students from the academic years 2022, 2023, and 2024, including 60 gold medals, 183 PhDs, 52 postgraduate, and 67 undergraduate degrees. The event also featured a grand procession, cultural performances, a book launch, and the national anthem, among several other dignified activities.
This convocation showcased the perfect blend of academic excellence and cultural harmony at Rabindranath Tagore University.
