Rahul Gandhi To Launch Student Conventions Nationwide

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amid the ongoing controversy over NEET-UG irregularities and reported issues in CBSE examinations, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to launch a nationwide series of student conventions aimed at directly engaging with students across India. The initiative is being organized by the Congress party and will begin from June 17, with events planned in multiple states including major educational hubs such as Kota, Prayagraj, Patna, and Delhi.

The student conventions are expected to focus on concerns raised by students regarding examination transparency, alleged paper leaks, and administrative lapses in major competitive exams. The Congress party has stated that the platform will be used to highlight issues affecting the youth, particularly those related to education, employment, and fairness in competitive examinations. Party leaders say the initiative aims to provide students with an opportunity to voice their grievances directly and build pressure for reforms in the examination system.

Over the past months, the NEET-UG controversy and CBSE evaluation-related complaints have sparked widespread debate, protests, and political confrontation, with opposition leaders questioning the integrity of the examination process. The upcoming conventions are being positioned as part of a broader outreach strategy to mobilize student support and raise awareness about systemic issues in education governance.

The campaign is also seen as an attempt by the Congress to strengthen its engagement with the youth and place education reforms at the center of its political narrative ahead of future elections.
