CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the Maharashtra government over the alleged Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak, calling it another serious blow to the aspirations of lakhs of young job seekers. Referring to the cancellation of the examination, Gandhi said nearly six lakh candidates have been left in uncertainty without a fresh exam schedule. He urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take immediate corrective measures and placed three key demands before the state government. These include conducting an impartial judicial inquiry into the alleged paper leak, taking strict action against all those responsible regardless of their influence, and providing relief to affected candidates by announcing a fresh examination date along with age-limit relaxation where necessary. Gandhi argued that repeated examination paper leaks have eroded public confidence in the recruitment process and have unfairly penalized honest aspirants who invest years preparing for competitive examinations. The Maharashtra government has already initiated an investigation into the alleged leak, with a Special Investigation Team examining financial and digital evidence to identify those behind the incident. The controversy has reignited the national debate over examination security, transparency, and accountability in public recruitment systems. Candidates and education experts have also demanded stronger safeguards to prevent future leaks and ensure that deserving aspirants receive fair opportunities without recurring disruptions.
