On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Railway Women’s Welfare Central Organization (RWWCO) organized a grand felicitation ceremony at the National Rail Museum Auditorium, New Delhi.

The chief guest, Railway Board Chairman & CEO Satish Kumar, honored 33 outstanding women employees selected from various Indian Railways zones, Production Units (PUs), and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Among the awardees was Mrs. Kalpana Chaure, a welder from West Central Railway, recognized for her exemplary work.

Recognition of Women’s Contributions

Speaking at the event, Satish Kumar emphasized that women are not only working on par with men but are exceeding expectations and making significant contributions to the nation’s development.

Highlighting the crucial role of women in Indian Railways, he stated,

“Women’s participation in the Railways is not just limited to the workplace; they are an integral part of our organization’s strength and success. Their hard work, dedication, and leadership have played a key role in taking Indian Railways to new heights.”

As a tribute to women’s empowerment, Satish Kumar recited a poem, saying:

“Women symbolize dignity and honor.

Women are the pride of our culture.

Women are strength, devotion, and the true expression of life’s light.”

Focus on Women Empowerment & Workplace Equality

On this occasion, RWWCO President Ruby Rani Singh discussed various initiatives taken by Indian Railways to promote women’s empowerment, workplace safety, and gender equality.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including RWWCO Secretary Amrita Sharma, Treasurer Nirdesh Singh, Joint Secretary Anjali Verma, and many others.
