CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, Satish Kumar, completed a one-day visit to the Itarsi yard, Rani Kamalapati, and Bhopal stations of the West Central Railway. During a special inspection trip along the Itarsi-Rani Kamalapati rail section, he conducted a window trailing inspection, evaluating the functionality of the railway bridges, tracks, overhead electrification, associated equipment, and signaling systems in this section, and directed the concerned officials regarding necessary improvements. This inspection was attended by Shobhana Bandyopadhyay, General Manager of West Central Railway, along with chief departmental heads, the Divisional Railway Manager of Bhopal, and senior officials of the division.

Mr. Kumar conducted a thorough inspection of passenger facilities at Itarsi railway station, the crew lobby, the railway yard at the Bhopal end of the Itarsi yard, and the running room. He also directly communicated with track maintainers, loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, and loco inspectors to gather feedback on their issues. Director Satish was briefed by General Manager Bandyopadhyay and the DRM of Bhopal, as well as senior railway officials, on detailed information related to track maintenance and safety.

Inspection of the Itarsi Crew Lobby: Director Satish inspected the crew lobby located on platform number 01 at Itarsi station, directly interacting with loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, railway personnel involved in train operations, train managers, and safety-related railway staff. He thoroughly checked the safety register and yard layouts and engaged in a special discussion on the safety work systems in the lobby.

Review of Passenger Facilities at Itarsi Station: During the inspection, Mr. Satish reviewed the redevelopment layout model of Itarsi railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, observing the ongoing redevelopment construction work. Subsequently, he met with the print and electronic media at the station manager’s office located on platform number 01. He also assessed passenger facilities while inspecting the station and gathered feedback from passengers present at the station. After this, he proceeded to inspect the running room.

Inspection of Budni Station: During window trailing, Director Satish arrived at Budni railway station in the Ghats section to observe and review safety maintenance activities, providing necessary directions. He also reviewed the foot overbridge at the station.

Inspection of Rani Kamalapati Station: As soon as the special inspection vehicle reached Rani Kamalapati station, he inspected passenger facilities on platform number 01 and conducted a thorough cleanliness inspection. He then used the lift to access the concourse area, checking passenger facilities and stalls. After that, he interacted with the print and electronic media on platform number 06. Additionally, he inspected the coaching depot, track machine depot, and passenger carriage redevelopment factory in Nishatpura. Finally, he also conducted inspections at Bhopal station to gather information on safety and passenger facilities.
