CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A successful Civil Defence mock drill was held at the Bhopal Division Office complex (porch) at 4:30 PM. This exercise was conducted in accordance with the directives of the Directorate of Civil Defence, covering 259 cities across the country. The aim of the drill was to test the preparedness, awareness, and coordination of railway employees in emergency situations, such as air attacks.
The drill was led by Civil Defence Inspector Yashwant Singh Parihar, who addressed the gathered employees from all departments at the start. He explained the dos and don’ts in the event of a red alert for an airstrike. He also provided detailed information on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be followed in such scenarios.
Following this, an educational video was displayed on the television screen, demonstrating the basic methods of protection during an airstrike. In this context, the railway’s Civil Defence team performed a live demonstration of life-saving techniques, showing how to protect oneself and others during a disaster. The team also provided practical information on using fire extinguishers, offering training on fire control methods in emergency situations.
The mock drill was attended by senior officials, including Additional Divisional Railway Manager Rashmi Diwakar, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer P.S. Raghvanshi, Divisional Commercial Manager Shyam Singh Barediya, and other officers, along with all employees from the division office. The event not only provided practical knowledge on disaster management to the employees but also demonstrated the railway administration’s vigilance and readiness in handling emergencies.
