CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The railway family of the Bhopal division of West Central Railway has once again proved that the Railways is not merely a mode of transport, but a family connected by sensitive human values. K. Stephen, an AC mechanic working on duty on train number 12628 Karnataka Express, met with an accident near the Hanuman temple at the Itarsi outer and was seriously injured. He suffered severe injuries and began bleeding heavily.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the Railway Protection Force, the Railway medical department and employees of SSE Electrical/ETL acted promptly and took the injured employee by railway ambulance to Dayal Multi Hospital in Itarsi.
On reaching the hospital, it was learned that the hospital’s agreement with the Railways had ended on June 30, 2026. In this difficult situation, Dr. Mohammad Farzeen, Medical Superintendent of the Sub-Divisional Railway Hospital, Itarsi, showed humanitarian concern and administrative promptness by immediately ensuring arrangements for first aid and allowing no delay in treatment.
In view of the injured employee’s critical condition, he was referred to Sagar Multi Hospital in Bhopal for better treatment. Since the injured employee belonged to another railway zone and no family member was present with him, the Itarsi railway family took full responsibility for him.
Ayush Badkur, an employee of the Sub-Divisional Railway Hospital, and Deepak Kanaujia, Junior Clerk in the Electrical ETL department, themselves accompanied him in the ambulance to Bhopal.
During treatment in Bhopal, an urgent need for blood arose because of excessive bleeding. In this situation, Ayush Badkur and Deepak Kanaujia donated blood without any hesitation and played an important role in saving the injured employee’s life. Both employees remained present at the hospital until the patient’s condition became completely stable.
Senior DCM Saurabh Kataria said the quick decision-making, spirit of service and selfless humanity shown by the RPF, the medical department, the electrical staff and the two employees is an inspiring example of the railway family’s excellent work culture. The incident shows that in times of crisis, the railway family stands with each of its members with complete sensitivity and dedication.
