CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In the railways, health check-ups for railway employees and their families are managed through central hospitals, divisional hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, and health units under the Western Central Railway. Under the guidance of General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay, the Central Hospital of Western Central Railway conducts periodic health awareness programs and health check-up camps at divisional hospitals and health units across the three divisions.

In this series, the Medical Department of Western Central Railway, under the direction of the Chief Medical Director, organized health awareness programs and health check-up camps at various locations last week.

The Central Hospital of Western Central Railway provided basic health education and CPR training to the running staff. The Divisional Railway Hospital Kota has started a pilot project to facilitate easy issuance of regular medication to retired railway employees. For this, one can send a WhatsApp message to the number 9256105790 with the card/CR number/mobile number. Medical authorities will notify the registration and medication issuance via mobile. After three to four days, retired railway employees or their representatives can collect the medication from the OPD. As this is a pilot project, medication will be provided for one month.

A health check-up camp was held at the Divisional Railway Hospital Bhopal under the guidance of the Chief Medical Superintendent. Doctors conducted comprehensive health checks for employees and Railway Protection Force personnel, providing detailed information on health awareness, diabetes, cancer, and other diseases. The camp saw participation from 33 employees and 12 Railway Protection Force personnel from Kota.

At the Sub-Divisional Railway Hospital Gangapur City, tree plantation was carried out in collaboration with railway hospital staff and retired railway employees. Trees such as Ashoka, Bottle Palm, Chiku, and Ficus were planted in the railway hospital park.

An awareness program was conducted jointly with the District Malaria Department Jabalpur and Jabalpur Railway Station. Following an inspection of the railway station premises by relevant authorities, anti-malaria/dengue sprays were applied. Additionally, stall and vendor owners were advised to maintain cleanliness around their areas and to cover food items properly. Pamphlets for the prevention of malaria/dengue were also distributed.

Health awareness campaigns will continue regularly at the Central Hospital of Western Central Railway and all railway hospitals and health centers.
