CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The closing ceremony of Rajbhasha Pakhwada 2026, organised by the Rajbhasha Department at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Bhopal, was held at the Narmada Railway Club Auditorium in Habibganj under the chief hospitality of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Pankaj Tyagi in a joyful and dignified atmosphere. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana. On the occasion, Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi extended Hindi Diwas greetings to everyone and said India is a country of diverse cultures and languages, and Hindi plays an important role as a major language in it.
He said Indian Railways and Hindi are both making significant contributions in uniting the country. He said India is a multilingual country and all its languages and dialects are part of its rich cultural heritage. Encouraging them is the responsibility of every Indian, he said. Describing original writing in Hindi as natural and effortless, he said attachment to one’s own language is also a form of love for the nation. The Divisional Railway Manager also highlighted the growing usefulness of Hindi in the present technological era. He said digital platforms such as computers, the internet, RailNet, the passenger reservation system, e-tickets, mobile ticket booking, railway websites and social media have played an important role in taking Hindi to a wider level. He said the importance of Hindi is not limited to its status as an official language, but it is also extremely important as a people’s language.
On the occasion, the message issued on Hindi Diwas by General Manager, West Central Railway, Dilip Kumar Singh, was read out by Additional Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Administration Abhiram Khare.
The humour poets’ meet was the main attraction of the ceremony. Bhopal’s noted poet Shri Deepak Shukla “Danadan”, lyricist Arjun Singh Chand from Jhansi, Priyanka Mishra from Jabalpur and Kuldeep Thakur “Rangeela” entertained the officers and employees present with their humorous, satirical and melodious compositions. The audience applauded the sharp and witty presentations by the poets, and the atmosphere remained filled with laughter and enthusiasm.
During the ceremony, Rajbhasha awards and certificates of appreciation were presented by Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi to 10 officers and 40 employees of the division for doing notable work in Hindi throughout the year, and to 35 employees who succeeded in various competitions organised during Rajbhasha Pakhwada.
All branch heads, union office-bearers and officers and employees of the division were present at the programme. The programme was conducted by Senior Section Officer Shivraman Shukla, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Rajbhasha Officer Vrijendra Kumar. Through Rajbhasha Pakhwada, the message was given to encourage maximum use of Hindi, original writing and effective use of Hindi in official work.
